he of dark heart and twisted mind
stands before us
promises that the wanton murder, killing
will go on, till a future President
exercises the moral fortitude
that, recognizing a mistake,
has the strength to turn back
Return to the good

george has not the where-with-all
to admit to his mistake
(thus obviating the "leave it to george adage)
to recognize that the evil resides in his own heart
not "out there"
george has not the moral strength to do good
evil is so much easier...
even before he assumed office
george abdicated the throne
gave the power of the presidency
to "satan"

george allowed evil to rule
because he wasn't a real player, himself
as his college days testify
george could only stand on the sidelines
and cheer his team on...
george, a cheerleader become president...
he allowed others, around him
to call the shots
and wearily, half-heartedly
george cheered them on
to weak to actually see the carnage surrounding him
deaf to a mother's plea
because really, he is not in the game
george stands on the sidelines
cheering
while others exert control
innocents suffer mameing and death
george cheers on
albeit, weakly...
